The shadows she observed in the grass inspired her to develop a technique, which however, did not paint the chosen object on canvas. In this way, the selected subject is transformed into an image. This happens especially for living things or objects that die, such as fruit or humans. Alexa Meade's painting style, that is a bit ephemeral in its nature, can be seen. The only thing from her work that is preserved is the photograph. Painting and photography are closely connected to form an unflattering two-dimensional space that is a trompe l'oeil. At certain locations, three dimensions are observed, such as around the eye or on the hair. Meade is also able to integrate her model paintings into the space of 3D that surrounds them. Interaction between them and this created world can be achieved. Thus, the boundary between photography and painting is dissolved.
