Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine of a lab technician and John Ormond (a stockbroker), in Epsom, Surrey. Ormond is the third of five children born to her parents. First, she attended Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School. There, her first lead roles in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady were noticed. After a year in art school, she was transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which she attended until 1988. Ormond first came to prominence on British television in 1989's serial Traffik. This show focused on the trade in heroin that was illegal that was thriving from the Far East to Europe. Ormond was the heroin addict daughter of the main character she was a Home Office minister who was involved in fighting heroin importation. This was her first film role and was praised by the critics as a success.
